I'd like to be able to hide all empty albums.

to do this you could simply create another group (in user groups) and make all of the empty albums only able to be seen by that group:)

If you're the only person who's going to upload to your gallery, simply create albums just when you need them, not in advance.

If you created the empty albums in advance for users to be able to upload to, then tb's proposal is not an option. If you hide them by making them accessible for a group with zero members, nobody could see pics in them once a users has actually uploaded pics, which would mean you'd have to manually "unhide" them.

If I remember this right, someone has already posted a similar question and has received an answer how to hide albums with zero pics in them - please search the board (try wording your search query differently if it returns too many results or none at all).
