Title: problem with WMV files
Post by: akuma13 on November 11, 2006, 01:43:13 am
I'm trying to ditch all the MOV and switch video to WMV - I just updated to 4.10

I've read and tried the fix described in the locked thread here http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=31291.0

I can view quicktime and other movies files fine, but WMV seems like it loads but won't start.  If I hit the actual URL of the WMV file it plays fine in IE as a solo file.

It works fine in Firefox.

When I view the source of the page it shows the updated classID and codebase as suggested in the fix linked above.

I am using a modified version of the project_vii theme but i copied over the theme.php from classic (or sample) as a starting point per the instructions in the fix thread.

Sorry I'm a nube.

A word of warning - this is nude site - nothing harder than teaser and playboy style but it's nude be warned...

the site is www.apneatic.com - the temp credentials for this board and debuggin are user: coppermine  pass: temppass

if you click on the video section via top navigation once logged in -  you'll see a WMV file that don't have thumbnails created and says "for testing only - -please ignore"

the URL will look something like this: http://sba6i3474yp.apneatic.com/members/thumbnails.php?album=74

strongbox, the security system we use adds a "newton" unique prefix to the IP address... as all script paths are relative it works fine ( i think) the MOV files have been playing ok and it works in FF.

if you enter: http://sba6i3474yp.apneatic.com/members/albums/videos/cupcake1.wmv

it will play in IE.  (your numeric prefix will vary).

Please let me know if I can supply additional information, files, code snippets or anything else.  I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong place.

thanks for any advice you may have,
Philip

i've replicated the problem here, please disregard the previous URL and password...

i set up a fresh install and posted the WMV in a safer area that doesn't require password:

thank you!

I have no problems with that video on FF or IE.
