Title: Video is not working
Post by: BentApple on September 24, 2006, 12:29:46 am
Hello,

To start off I searched the forums and I haven't found a problem similar to mine.

I've installed Coppermine Gallery and so far I've really enjoyed it.  I tried uploading a video but it is not playing for some reason.  (I first tried a large video file, about 30 mb then when it didn't work I went with a much smaller one to test it first.  Uploading the large file took me about 15 minutes!)

I first created a folder under my "albums" folder called "ftpuploads" I gave this folder a 777 attribute.  I then uploaded my video, a small file about 2.4mb to the site in the "ftpuploads" folder using ipswitch.  I then went into coppermine and batch added this video file to my videos album.  I received an ok for doing this showing me it was added successfully.

When I go to play it doesn't do anything.  Does anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong.  I'm pretty new to this and I think I followed all the steps correctly.

I just viewed it in internet explorer and it doesn't even show that the video album has anything in it whereas in firefox it does.  Why is that?  Do you know?

Actually it shows that there is something in it when I'm signed in as the admin in both firefox and internet explorer.  If I'm not signed in as admin, it doesn't show anything.

I forgot to mention that I have the gallery bridged with phpbb2.0.21

Also of note, the file is a .wmv file.

Ok, i fixed the album.  The setting was on, "only viewable by me" but I fixed it so everybody can see it.  But the video is still not working.

I made the changes that was suggested in the link that rphMedia gave me and now it works in both firefox and internet explorer but obviously i have to use the classic theme.  I mainly use the Fiblack3dblue theme.  How would I apply it to this theme.  Just follow the same steps but this time use the Fiblack3dblue folder?  I don't want to mess anything up by doing this so please let me know.  Thank you.
