I have installed coppermine recently mainly because of the lack of security within my previous gallery and its inability to create sub albums.
I have discovered that creating Categories with albums inside has partly solved my problems.

Only one category is presently but this system will allow people to choose a category (in this case a country) then choose an album from within it.
Although this is not yet an issue I know that I will need to create sub albums within albums further down the line, and as my friend travels further along the route he is taking.
I have tried doing this already but I must be doing something wrong. Is this facility available within Coppermine, if not is there a hack I can use to create the functionality that I require.
Any advice, or if anyone can at least point me me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
On a seperate note, if anyone out there is interested, check out Nunos travels on:

use albums inside subcategories inside category

Thank you for the advice.
If I was to do this however is it possible for sub categories themselves to hold photos in the same way that albums do, and is it possible to assign thumbnails to sub categories. I ask because I have not been able to assign thumbails to categories so far.
Thank you again for any assistance with this problems

albums contain images
categories contain albums... that's how Coppermine works
If you want to assign thumbs to categories then the images you want to assign need to be in that category
