Will you recommend me which are the best emotions for coppermine-gallery. I use 1.4.2 version

"Best emoticons" doesn't apply - it's simply a matter of taste what emoticons/smileys you prefer. The ones that come with Coppermine are OK, we don't provide others. If you need other emoticons, just google for them (making sure to respect copyrights and only use those smiley sets that are allowed to re-use). Since the smileys in the coppermine package have been adopted from phpbb, you might want to check the smiley sets available for phpbb.
In the future, post on the sub-board that is most fitting for your question - the bridging board (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=50.0) (where you originally started (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=33554.0) your thread) definitely is the wrong board.

It's mandatory that you upgrade - you mustn't run cpg1.4.2 (it has known security flaws)!
