Title: Problem viewing full size pictures
Post by: najmead on July 05, 2006, 01:57:46 am
Not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but it doesn't seem to be an installation issue or a theming issue.

When I click on an intermediate pictures, a full size window spawns but does not actually display the picture.  I've read the FAQ and this is not a problem with javascript in the theme file (I've checked, it's all there.  The problem also exists when using other themes).  Interestingly, if I hit the "Crop and Rotate" button, the full size picture does display.

I'm not sure if this is a coppermine/configuration issue or a server/apache problem.  Any clues?

did you install any plugin like "ANIS Java Applet v1.0"?

It usually helps to post a link to your coppermine-driven gallery as a first step, allowing supporters to take a look at your issue. Without such a link, we can just come up with some wild guessing.

Nope.  It's pretty much a "standard" installation with no frills.

Ahhh... yes, of course.   ;D

Well, there's something wrong with your access rights, going directly to the url of a full-size pic (e.g. http://www.nickandkylie.com/photos/albums/uploads/Austria/img_0243.jpg, which belongs to http://photos.nickandkylie.com/displayimage.php?pos=-1) returns a "403 forbidden" error. Check permissions and hotlink protection. If you can't figure this out, ask your webhost for support. This is not a Coppermine issue, but a matter of webserver setup.

I've managed to resolve this problem.  My FTP application had incorrectly set the permissions of the pictures so that they could not be read.  This didn't seem to make any sense, since Coppermine had been able to successfully create intermediate pictures and thumbnails... so I just assumed the main pictures were readable.
