Is there any way to upload .JPG files (i.e. upper case .jpg). Some of the photos I have are in upper case, and I would prefer not to have to convert them all to lower case...

Either set "Allowed image types (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#admin_picture_thumb_advanced_pic_extensions)" to "ALL" or specify jpg files both upper and lower case, e.g. "jpg/JPG/jpeg/JPEG" or similar.
