Title: Number of Albums?

Is there a way to have a category list how many albums and photos are in it even if they are in sub categories?  

For instance I have a main category called TV, inside it I have a list of shows that are sub categories and inside those I have albums with different eps.  

On the index page in the category list it lists TV but it doesn't show the number of albums or photos and some of the "slower" visitors may not get that there is actually something in there to see since those aren't listed.

It would be cool to have those numbers listed depending on what level you are at, so if you are at the very last level and there is only one album below that it will say that there is just one album but if you are at the top level category and that category has many subcategories and albums it will list how many albums are blow it.

Have you tried changing, in config, the 'Number of levels of categories to display'.  Change it from 2 to 4 or 5.

This might answer the question on your other thread as well.

Ya tried that, it doesn't really do what I want.  It puts all of the sub categories on the main page and it really clutters it up.  Granted it adds the pictures to the random block then but the excess clutter detracts from the over all look of it for me.

Thanks for the suggestion though.  It does give me a few things to think about when I am looking for the code for the other thread to try and get all of the sub albums to display in the random block.

Yeah been looking for this for a long time!

www.defencetalk.com/pictures < doesn' show how many albums and pictures are in each category. If you display 5/6 levels deep that will just make the page so long and hard for dialup users to load.  Besides its not so "great" to display all 60 categories in order to display just how many pics and albums each category has!  :?
