I've been to a website that uses Coppermine and only part of the images download for viewing. I've tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer and get the same results - only the top portion of the image appears.
Refreshing the page does not work - I still only get the top part of the image.
I'm running XP home, on a brand new Dell PC.
Any suggestions?

A link to the gallery might help.
-
This one did not work:
http://fan-sites.org/kmcphee/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=165
There were others as well. On an XP pro machine, the effect is sporadic.

I've tried viewing several images on that link above using my XP pro machine and all stalled out/ended after only the top of them appeared. It does seem that if I try to see only one at a time, I sometimes get the entire image. The thumbnail pages load just fine.
Could this be a time-out problem? I'm on dial-up.
-
Works for me, probably a timeout issue since those pics are very large.
-
Yeah, it's likely due to being on dialup. I have dsl that's faster than usual dsl and the pages were able to load, albeit slower than usual because the files are 2+MB. :o
-
OK - so any suggestions on how to fix the time-out problem, as it is not consistent? Sometimes, it happens, and other times it does not.
Is this a tweak in the browser or ... ?
Thanks
-
Hard to say as it's not a Coppermine issue. You might have better luck searching other net resources on dealing with dialup and large images.
-
While I try to figure out the time-out issue, is there any way to download a thumbnailed image without loading it first in the browser?
(I use Firefox mainly, and Flashgot, and Free Download manager.)
If I try using "Save Link as" I get the filename "displayimage.php" suggested for the file, as the actual link is something like:
http://fan-sites.org/kmcphee/gallery/displayimage.php?album=165&pos=17
and the "?" seems to be interpreted as "we've reached the end of the filename".
-
Try Copy Image Location. Edit the URL to remove thumb_
-
Ok - that's a reasonable work-around. I'll see if the Flashgot folks can do something more automatic.
Thanks!

Moving from "General discussion (no support!) (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=12.0)" to the cpg1.3.x support board, where you should have started this thread in the first place.
