Title: 0 files display yet "DP" icons appear
Post by: MiltonBC on May 24, 2006, 07:28:06 pm
I'm using version 1.4.3.

One album shows 0 files yet when I batch add files, I get "DP" files already exist in database.

I tried deleting the whole album and doing over but same thing happens.

Can't figure out where I went wrong - any help??

Try not asking for support on a board named 'no support' and running the latest version of the software.

Sorry ???

I don't understand why that is the problem when all the other albums work fine

We don't understand that neither, because we can't: you failed to provide the details needed ;).
Post a link, non-test user account and a screenshot of the page where you get errors. Saying "sorry to have posted on the wrong board" wouldn't have hurt... ::)

OK, sorry for posting in the wrong spot - but I didn't expect this problem to be that difficult. I thought many casual users might have experienced the same problem.

Anyway, here is the link to the album in question

http://www.theinsidecurve.com/gallery/index.php?cat=32

It's about 5 albums down. It shows 0 files, but I've uploaded all the pics and then batch added the files, so can't figure out where I went wrong.

Post [...] a screenshot of the page where you get errors.

There are no errors.

Just an album that displays 0 files, and when I try to batch add files I get the DP icons, (means file is a duplicate and already in database)

Hasn't anyone else ever encountered this?

post a screenshot of that particular page - I need to see what files are reported to be duplicates and check the files themselves.

How do I post the screenshot?

I've saved in on my harddrive, but don't know how to get it onto this forum.

Upload it to your site and post the link in your next post.

Upload it to your site and post the link in your next post.
This works, but is the wrong method: if the link goes down, the thread becomes useless for others. Instead: click on "additional options" when composing your message, use the "browse" button to attach the screenshot to your posting.

There's something wrong with your page, when going to http://www.theinsidecurve.com/gallery/index.php?cat=32, some code shows through at the very top of the screen
Quote
Admin CP | '; } if (is_supermod()) { $extralinks .= 'Mod CP | '; } } ?>
, not sure if this is related though.

Your issues might be related to some broken files that exist in your db: http://www.theinsidecurve.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-5514 embedds http://www.theinsidecurve.com/gallery/albums/mens_bc_2006/stealers_vancity/dsc_0249.jpg, which is not there, so I guess you removed the file using your FTP app although the file already exists in your database. You mustn't do that - always use the coppermine interface to remove files from the server once they exist in the database. Fix your broken files and you should be fine.

As you already said, you're using cpg1.4.3, which is outdated and contains known bugs. Upgrade to the most recent stable (currently cpg1.4.6) asap.
