Title: 200,000 images to upload help needed
Post by: dajster on May 10, 2006, 12:59:17 am
Hi guys, spent 5 - 6 hours the other day uploading 5000 images, I need to upload 200,000 images to the database on my server, having achieved so little in such a long time, I thought someone else must have had this problem before, are there any automation processes for doing this and confirming on DB, it would need to generate thumb, 70% image and full image, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used cpmassimport and it works great!! I uploaded over 1000 pictures while i cooked dinner and didn't have to babysit my upload. You just need to make sure your photos are already in folders just like how you will want them to show up in your gallery when you do upload them. If that makes any sense.

There are threads that discuss using MySQL 5 with Coppermine.  I think many of the problems can be solved by simple changes to the database structure (including default values for instance).

Debugged that mass batch script, running a test on it now to see if its compatible with mysql 5, will post it if it works should save a lot of hassle for some folks, thanks for the reply Paver.
