Title: I need help with russian locale.
Post by: DenVault on April 20, 2006, 09:56:33 am
Hello everyone. I have installed the latest release of cpg.
I`ve also managed to connect it to the existing user database.
So that is the trouble: when I list all the users in admin section, I get some kind of squares and so on when displaying usernames in native language.
I know that when I switched the language to Russian, I use a dictionary wrote in UTF-8 character set.
The database is in cp1251 format.
Everything else is fine with Russian on my pages, but russian usernames are displayed wrong.

What can I do to solve this problem? Where can I find the place where usernames are displayed out? How can I change manually the character page of this stuff?

I`m a newbie to cpg so I beg y`all pardons for my English and if somthing`s wrong.

has been asked before very often already. You need to convert your database's textual content to utf-8 or you'll have to switch back to the encoding you had before upgrading. Please search the board.
