The files stay where you uploaded them.

Q1]while adding them it asks to select an album...so what does it does in the album (is that it just creates SQL entires)

Q2] can i upload pictures to the same folder in future..in that case..will cpg differenciate old and new pics?

1) one question per thread!
2) as Nibbler suggested: Coppermine doesn't move files around, they stay where they are. Coppermine just creates thumbnails, intermediate images and a database entry.
3) You can FTP-upload to the folders that already exist whenever you like. It's recommended to create a folder structure that mimmicks the category/album structure for a better overview.

Please read the docs.

Yeah, they only need to be writable during adding or if you want to alter them using admin tools.

Now i have a small problem..
i have upload around 200 pics without renaming them(all of them have spaces in their name), is their any way to rename them before adding

either by cpg or with the Webhost cpanel tools?
