Title: when uploading avi "0 uploads were successful."
Post by: xluke on March 29, 2006, 06:27:33 pm
Hello,
Uploading images (jpg) goes fine.  But, when I try to upload a 7mb .avi file, I get the message "0 uploads were successful."  Any ideas?  I have the upload limit set to 50mb and the quota at infinity.

Thanks!,
xluke

uploading large files over http usually times out (both the server and the browser may run into time-outs), this is not related to coppermine config settings. You (as coppermine admin) should FTP-upload plus batch-add. Don't post debug_output unless requested. Do as suggested instead in the upload troubleshooting section of the docs instead if you want support.

Thanks for the reply.  Sorry about the debug info.

I followed the instructions in the docs and got this error message:
"No file was uploaded !

If you have really selected a file to upload, check that the server allows file uploads...

File: /home/lucarell/public_html/cpg140/db_input.php - Line: 300 "

If this is really a timeout issue, what can be done?  I would like users to be able to upload video files, so batch addition isn't really an option.

Here is a test user account:

login/pass: temp

Thanks again,
xluke

if the server is yours to administer you could try modifying the server-sided vars that have an impact on this, refer to the sticky thread on this sub-board.
After all, coppermine is a photo gallery that has additional support for videos and other file types, but it mainly focuses on images and that's imo what it should be used for.
