Title: Only security logs are created?
Post by: WhoAmI on March 01, 2006, 04:46:00 pm
I doesn't matter if logs are enabled or disabled - security logs will by created always... and only security logs.... what's wrong ??

I've tried to vote my pictures and there aren't any logs created for this... I have enabled full logging.

P.S: sorry for my poor english.

What logs are you refering to? There's a load of them. Usually, posting a link to your page might be a good start...

I can't give you link to my page, because logs are avaliable for administrators only. But this is what I can see when selecting Display logs option:

Quote

Logs ::
 security     ( 1 KB )

And this is security logs:

Failed login attempt with Username: xxxxxx from IPxxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on Feb 24, 2006 at 12:58 PM
Failed login attempt with Username: xxxxxfrom IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on Mar 01, 2006 at 03:03 PM
Failed login attempt with Username:  xxxxx IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on Mar 01, 2006 at 07:21 PM

I wonder this logs are saved even if Enable Logs option is disabled....and ALWAYS only that "Security logs" are saved.... is this should be?

voting isn't stored inside your logs. What's wrong with posting a link to your site. I understand the software a little bit, so I'm fully aware that I can't access your logs, yet I can test if the file exists or not. I can check on voting issues as well, and I can check your version. I know what I'm doing when asking for a link, so please post one ::).

not a bug, but expected behaviour, or if you want to put it in another way: a missing feature for you. Not missing for me though. You should still update, read the announcement thread (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=28445.0)!

Yes, this is what I mean, but I was afraid  that there was something wrong.

From cp docs:

Quote
Keep detailed hit statistics
Enabling this option records:

Each vote separately
IP Address
Search Keyword, if the referer is Google, Yahoo! or Lycos search engines
Referer
Browser
Operating System
of the visitor.

As the statistics are being kept per file, the link to the stats can be accessed on the individual file's page (displayimage.php) by clicking the link in the file info section to open the stats pop-up.

Note: The total hits may not match if you enable details and do not reset the earlier hits.

So this feature is not yet implemented??

That's a completely different feature.

the detailed hits and votes stats you refer to are not being stored in log files, but in the database. They're accessible in the pic info section when viewing an individual pic.
