Hello, I have upgraded from 1.3.5 to 1.4.4 and I have CPG integrated with SMF 1.1rc2.
My users already have images in their galleries and I was wondering if (and how) I can safely revert to non-post based user groups without loosing any files/albums/pictures. Is this possible at all? During the upgrade the bridge manager said that this could be done later, but I wasn't sure if that meant that it can be done later even if there are already images uploaded by users in these post-based groups.
Thanks

The only thing you'll lose will be if you have set 'album can be viewed by' to some groups. If so you'll need to go through and re-do them. That's the only likely issue you'll have.

Cool, thanks a lot!

By the way, I was looking for where to revert to non-post based user groups but I can't find the setting. Can somebody tell me where it is? Thanks

Just disable the bridge and re-enable it with the new setting.
-
can the change be done via database also in order not to have to disable and enable the bridge?
-
Yes, the setting is in the bridge table.

thanks a lot Nibbler!

so I set "use_post_based_groups" in the db to 0
I see there is a "use_standard_groups" set to 1 - should I leave that at 1? what is that for?
-
Nibbler, are you able to tell me?
-
Leave it, it does nothing.
