Title: Oranje theme
Post by: Stramm on February 04, 2006, 02:00:10 pm
live demo http://stramm.st.funpic.org

the theme is made for my modpack (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24341.0) but with a few little modifications a standard CPG 1.4 will run it too

@all: warning - as Stramm suggested, this theme can not be used as it is for a "regular" coppermine install, it's mandatory to have Stramm's modpack installed to make it work!

@Stramm: nice theme - could you release a version of the theme as well that actually will work with an unmodded coppermine install? It'd be a nice example of a right-handed menu for the demo.

of course... as said, just a few little modifications. Still it looks lots better when using the modpack  ;D

Thanks for posting your modified version. It looks fine, but there are some serious flaws in it - it is far from cpg1.4.x compliant. I have modified it a bit to show at least the most important new features. However, there are still some design drawbacks (most importantly not respecting the sys_menu/sub_menu structure introduced in cpg1.4.x. In fact, the theme is a cpg1.3.x theme that is made to work with cpg1.4.x some way or the other, however it is not an actual cpg1.4.x theme, as it wasn't upgraded as suggested in the theme upgrade guide. The markup isn't standards compliant (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fcoppermine-gallery.net%2Fdemo%2Fcpg14x%2Findex.php%3Ftheme%3Doranje&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline) and there are even some nesting issues with it.
Please don't get me wrong - it's a nice theme, looking beautifully. However, it's not a good example to promote right-handed menus, which was my initial point of interest.
I have added the fixed version (not all open issues fixed though) of the oranje theme for a default coppermine install without the modpack to the Demo (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/index.php?theme=oranje) and Download (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/coppermine/cpg1.4.x_theme_oranje_unmodified.zip?download) section. Maybe you could look into the theme once more and try to make it a "true" cpg1.4.x theme.

right, it's a 1.3 port. I've changed the menu system to use cpg1.4 standards. Will look into the markup later and upload then a new version

I've updated both zips (modpack and unmodded 1.4.3). The modpack is W3C compliant for index, thumblist and image display. Therefore you need to use trhe latest modpack version

The standard version has to live with a few errors in image display (these can't be fixed in the theme.php but only in themes.inc.php / functions.inc.php)

it's a pity you didn't have a look at the changes I made to your package using a diff viewer, you would have noticed at least one mandatory thing that your standalone theme is lacking. Can't replace the demo version nor the download version with your new one, sorry.

I did... however somehow a bunch of tabs and linebreaks changed in your version. And cause I've rewritten every var and function in the meanwhile it's now ridiculous to diff view mine and your version.

If it's just the custom header you could just have said so.

yes, alll tokens in curly braces must be present, especially the custom header, as we need it for the navigation on the demo.

Hi Stramm,

I seem to have some problems with the report to admin function. It only appears when using coppermine in a bridged mode..

Did you ever see this problem before ?
Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: Stramm on February 21, 2006, 10:55:49 am
I do not use a bridged cpg... so I can't confirm. Can you give me a few more details/ description of the problem. Then I might be able to fix it

Hi, i switched back to a standalone coppermine. The bridge didnt work very stable. Thanks for the help though.

I was wondering, i remove the text and stuff above the intermediate image, but now i have alot of space left on top of the
next/previous buttons. How can i remove this space, cant seem to find it in the css of theme.php.

If you modified the theme everything can be the reason. Do you have a link?

I put the report to admin/info link in the draggable box.

looks to me like that's not just 'left space' but that's the place where the div is located your js makes movable
Title: Re: Oranje theme

Hmm, i checked it with the firefox webdevelop plugin. It says its the #thumbs div. Should i try sending you my theme.php file ? Perhaps that would help.

Hello Stramm

I have a problem.

I have installed your mod pack and am using your oranje theme as I really like the layout. Once installed other then distorted thumbnails everything layout wise has been fine until I go to Admin Menu and then Groups. Once in there the whole layout is messed up. On the page the group settings doesn't fit into the 770 width (or whatever its set to) and messes everything up.

How do I fix that?

cheers

Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: Stramm on April 04, 2006, 08:37:27 am
yes, known problem and a limitation of a fixed header width with right side menu and content that needs far more room. To fix it you'd need to recode the groups control panel. I consider this not to be a problem cause no user will ever see it

You get distorted thumbnails only if chnage dimension in config. But if you've read the (**) note, running the admin tools and recreating the thumbs is mandatory and will fix it
Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: Sherrie on April 04, 2006, 09:18:07 am

Hello Stramm thankyou for your reply.

Regarding the thumbs the distortion actually happenned after recreating the thumbs (I read the other thread before I did it) but I didn't have too many albums up so I figured I'd just redo them.

Cheers

the "distorted thumbs" issue is not theme-related and should therefor not be discussed on this thread.

in the modpack 1.4.6 will i just need to upload the midpack over the original 1.4.6 coppermine & that's it, it will work like your site?

thnx

things concerning the modpack should be discussed on the modpack thread. This is just a thread about a theme contribution. It doesn't deal with the modpack.

if you change the width of that theme you should have a look at the image bg.gif. Also search for that name in template.html
Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: Joachim Müller on June 23, 2006, 08:17:25 am
Ignore the RTL/LTR posting made above, I don't think it interferes at all. FYI, those terms mean right-to-left and left-to-right and are used for the direction of pages in some languages like arabic or hebrew (which are RTL). However, the themes have all been designed basically for LTR languages. As you're using a LTR language, you can safely ignore the posting made by ymca imo.

I was pointed here, but not sure if I'm supposed to post here or not...  On Oranje theme, above the intermediate image, I see "no name from userx".  Looking at the demos of this theme, it usually shows 'file x/x'.  I can't find where I change this - I want to show the filename.  Thanks

Hello,
I' newbie in  Coppermine Gallery, in site programming (like PHP) also.
I installed cmg 1.4.9, Stramm mod pack v3, and RightClickMenu plugin v2.0.0.
In Tentacle theme RCmenu works ok, but with Oranje theme it doesn't.
If i right click on tumbs or large pictures it appears browser menu.
What should i change in Oranje theme to disable showing right-click browser menu (it appears in FF and IE)?
My cmg with Oranje theme: http://tomaszewicz.zpt.tele.pw.edu.pl/foto/thumbnails.php?album=12&theme=oranje (http://tomaszewicz.zpt.tele.pw.edu.pl/foto/thumbnails.php?album=12&theme=oranje)
and with with e.g. Tentacle theme: http://tomaszewicz.zpt.tele.pw.edu.pl/foto/thumbnails.php?album=12&theme=tentacle (http://tomaszewicz.zpt.tele.pw.edu.pl/foto/thumbnails.php?album=12&theme=tentacle)

Is there an easy way to move the menu bar from the right side to just under the logo in the header?  I tried searching and simply moving the tags in the template.html file but I wasn't able to come up with anything
Title: Re: Oranje theme

why not u use another theme with default "horizontal" style menu...

this theme is best with its own style...
Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: lifter on September 04, 2007, 06:15:41 pm
Because I like the theme other than the menu being on the right

I am having another problem now though - when a user is logged in, the template breaks - attached pic

I'd like to modify it so that "Create Order my albums/My Profile" etc are displayed one by one per line instead of beside eachother and that should stop the template from breaking

Solved my own problem, not sure if it's the proper way

In include/themes.inc.php

Find:

Code: [Select]
// HTML template for user admin menu
if (!isset($template_user_admin_menu))  //{THEMES}
$uid = USER_ID;
$template_user_admin_menu = <<<EOT

                <div align="center">
                <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1">
                        <tr>
                                <td class="admin_menu"><a href="albmgr.php" title="{ALBMGR_TITLE}"> {$USER_ID} {ALBMGR_LNK}</a></td>
                                <td class="admin_menu"><a href="modifyalb.php" title="{MODIFYALB_TITLE}">{MODIFYALB_LNK}</a></td>
                                <td class="admin_menu"><a href="profile.php?op=edit_profile" title="{MY_PROF_TITLE}">{MY_PROF_LNK}</a></td>
                                <td class="admin_menu"><a href="picmgr.php" title="{PICTURES_TITLE}">{PICTURES_LNK}</a></td>
                        </tr>
                </table>
                </div>

EOT;

And replace with:

Code: [Select]
// HTML template for user admin menu
if (!isset($template_user_admin_menu))  //{THEMES}
$uid = USER_ID;
$template_user_admin_menu = <<<EOT

                <div align="center">
                <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1">
                   <tr>
                  <tr><td class="admin_menu"><a href="albmgr.php" title="{ALBMGR_TITLE}"> {$USER_ID} {ALBMGR_LNK}</a></td></tr>
                  <tr><td class="admin_menu"><a href="modifyalb.php" title="{MODIFYALB_TITLE}">{MODIFYALB_LNK}</a></td></tr>
                  <tr><td class="admin_menu"><a href="profile.php?op=edit_profile" title="{MY_PROF_TITLE}">{MY_PROF_LNK}</a></td></tr>
                  <tr><td class="admin_menu"><a href="picmgr.php" title="{PICTURES_TITLE}">{PICTURES_LNK}</a></td></tr>
                        </tr>

Title: Re: Oranje theme
Post by: Stramm on January 04, 2008, 01:59:37 pm
A leftover when I ported it from the modpack version to the unmodded coppermine. As this was a modpack only functionality you need to remove the link from theme.php

find
Code: [Select]
                                        <span style="float:left"><cite><a href="profile.php?uid={AUTHOR_ID}">{MSG_AUTHOR}</a></cite> Says: - <small class="commentmetadata">{MSG_DATE} - </small>
replace with
Code: [Select]
                                        <span style="float:left"><cite>{MSG_AUTHOR}</cite> Says: - <small class="commentmetadata">{MSG_DATE} - </small>

In the modpack version this function changed as well to not show the author as link if he's a not logged in. Therefore  the {AUTHOR_ID} placeholder doesn't exist there anymore, too. The modpack version is already up to date.

Then start a thread of your own instead of hijcacking the ann0uncement thread if you have individual customization requests. Do so after having read http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,24056.msg123520.html#msg123520 and after having applied one of the tools discussed there. We can't teach you CSS basics.
