Title: GPL-Question
Post by: themad on January 05, 2006, 12:21:32 pm
Hi, I don't know if I understood the GPL the right way, os I want to ask here:
Am I allowed to integrate a coppermine Gallerie into a comercial CMS and what have I to look at?(e.g. wich links have to stay and have the php, mysql symbols have to stay there?)

as long as you use it for yourself only, you can include coppermine into whatever commercial app you like. Only if you want to give it to others, possible restrictions from the GNU GPL apply. As a special requirement from Coppermine, we require that the "Powered by Coppermine" tag at the bottom stays visible and unobstructed no matter what.
As you're probably not willing to pay for this advice I'm moving this thread from "Looking for Freelancers / Paid help" to "General discussion".

Thanks for the answer.
I posted it here, because it has also to do with money.

The case is, that I was asked to write an Gallery for the CMS
Istead of that I want offer them to include the Coppermine into it.
Is that allowed?
(I dont want to steal Software-Code like some other (today rish) companies  ;)
