Title: cpg wil not accept bigger photos ?
Post by: hala on January 01, 2006, 08:08:11 pm
I can upload photos and get the rigt "chmod 777" thats ok. If the photo is not bigger than 1024.768 pixlar is no problem.
But if the photo is 1600*1200 the cpg wil not accept the photo? Why is that?

I tryed to add two files into cpg one 1024.768 is ok and one 1600*1200 and this failed
This is my debuginfo.

Coppermine doesn't have a limit but your server would: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24088.0

Please read stickies... they're there for a reason.

Ok I have not read it for a tip. I found this

5. PHP's LimitRequestBody - 512KB default limit. (mainly an issue on Redhat/Apache systems.  Found in /etc/http/conf.d)

I have put in "LimitRequestBody 2048000" in the php.conf but no result. I do think it must be i byte.

That isn't the problem.  As I've said many, many times, resizing images consumes vast resources - your memory limit is exceeded when your images are larger than 1024x768.  You can try increasing the memory limit, or by installing and using ImageMagick.  ImageMagick still has limits, which are determined during the installation process.

...and please don't post debug_output unless requested.

OK.

Sorry if I sent not requsted debug_outputs. My misstake.

So I can not upload bigger images than 1024*768. I do have lot of space on my server so that is not a problem. The "consumes vast resource" must be upp to me if it is or not a problem ;-)
You say "You can try increasing the memory limit" I thoght I did with the "LimitRequestBody" settings. Byt i did not. How do I "increasing the memory limit". The maskin has 1GB ram and 200+ GB harddrive. May be I should now how to do this, but I do not. So please give me a "hint".

glad you were able to solve this. However, are you by chance self-hosted? Please be adviced that we don't recommend self-hosting at all.
