Title: Gallery with ImageMagick
Post by: tommytomato on December 29, 2005, 03:41:09 am
Hi all

I've installed the gallery cpg1.4.2 ok, had no problems installing and creating albums and uploading images.

I installed ImageMagick last to work with coppermine gallery, I added the path /usr/bin/convert

doesn't seem to come up with any error's, question is is there any way to make sure it's working  ???
I wish to put water marks on my photo's in the long run.

TT

If the gallery creates the thumbnails when you upload pics then it's working. You should update to 1.4.3

Also the path should be /usr/bin/ and NOT /usr/bin/convert.

Also the path should be /usr/bin/ and NOT /usr/bin/convert.

pfff I spent an hour on that... tx now it works!!

why the hell is asked for " Path to ImageMagick 'convert' utility "  then... it should ask instead for somethin like root Path to Imagemagick for example /usr/bin/

on other ImageMagick installs, the convert executable might reside in a folder that doesn't equal the ImageMagick root folder, that's why. You're suppossed to specify the path to the executable, you just got distracted by the fact that in Lunix the executables don't have an ".exe" extension like in Windows. Arguing about this seems a bit like you're trying to find an excuse for not specifying the path correctly in the first place - you don't have to.
Anyway, you should upgrade to the most recent stable version cpg1.4.3 as well (although not related to your actual issue).
