Title: filmstrip mod
Post by: jdsmith on December 28, 2005, 04:01:00 pm
I've read through all the threads that appeared pertinent and searched as best I could, but...  Has anyone explored the possibility of adding a scroll bar beneath the filmstrip on the image view page?  I've read a thread about adding arrows to the end and so forth, but the simplest (for the user) seems to me to be a scroll bar.  I know nothing about coding this stuff though, so would this be extremely difficult?  Thanks in advance.

Functionally, a scrollbar might be easier, but visually... IMO, it's best to try to minimize the appearance of scrollbars on a page, especially if they show up on the browser window. Also, if there are a LOT of pictures in the album, it means that it takes a very slight movement to move around, and some people don't have such fine motor control and would quickly "lose their place".

I don't like scroll bars to move around the page, but I guess I don't have a problem for a specific purpose like this.  There was discussion on the other thread about using the arrows and users knowing when they were at the end of the strip.  This just seemed like a good use for a scroll bar.  I may see if I can get someone to try this mod for me.  Thanks for your reply.
