Hi,
I tried to improve the plugin rewrite.

To take again the name of the galleries, seek in index.php and modify:

in
<a href=\"index.php?cat={$subcat['cid']}&nam={$subcat['name']}\">" . $user_thumb . "</a>"
Test with the joined files and say to me if it is ok.

Hi,
I'm very interested in using your upgrade but I can't seem to get it to install properly. I kept getting Error 500 Internal Server Errors whenever I tried to load my site. Could you perhaps give a step by step guide as to how to install your upgrade?

disable the existing plugin, then upload the contributed plugin into your plugin folder (into a separate folder, e.g. "custom_sef"), then go to plugin manager and enable it there.

it is giving me Error 500 's too...

does your webhost allow you using mod_rewrite? If they don't, you can't use any SEF plugin, neither the packaged one nor this modified version. I suggest asking your webhost for support.

yeah..I am allowed to use mod_rewrite...the normal plugin one works...but when I use the .htaccess file that comes with this one it causes the 500s...when I switch back the .htaccess file the errors don't happen anymore...here is my gallery:

it's meant to improve the search-engine-friendly URLs plugin. Don't use it if you don't need it.

Can someone give a little bit more detail on what has to be done to install this?
At the moment I have gathered is that there are two text files and we are supposed to make a new directory under the plugins directory.

i tried the plugin to my website and it works..... i checked all the links and everything works fine. ;D thanks claude

I've modified (actually rewrited : )) the plugin and it is nearly complete and working. Only the links in two pages linked from user profile page are absent but i'll copmlete it after because i have a terrible headache :S.
After install check the source of .htaccess file in the root of gallery folder with the htaccess.txt file in the plugin's folder, because sometimes it can be corrupted while copying. If it is corrupted you have "500 Server Internal Error" so you can understand it is corrupted : )

I've mostly completed the plugin, there is two or three links that are not rewrited. And i don't think to rewrite them because they are not necessary a lot. These form of the plugin is enough to use (and for Google indexing)

Works very nice mehyaa, tnx alot.
One thing though, the filename isnt visible in the browser window. Don't know how much of a problem this
could cause when indexing in goooogle.

Hi. Would it be possible to include Russian album names being correctly rewritten into a directory name as well?
(Russian => translit)
(plus, it would be great if picture names were rewritten too.. simular to picture-id-nameintranslit.html)

Please don't request additional features on existing plugins, especially since this contribution is very old already. Your request is valid though imo - please start a new thread on the feature requests board instead.

Ok. Thank you. I wasn't sure whether it was ok for me to start a new thread.
Since this forum had a discussion about album names already (in this topic), and my request dealt with practically the same feature (it just had to support Russian lang), this is the reason I didn't start a new thread but instead posted in here.
Guys, what's with the carma being lowered on every 'wrongful' move? Seriously?

Please don't clutter this thread with yet another karma discussion (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=26826.0). You have 10 postings so far - there's no telling what you got that negative karma for, but after all I wouldn't care if I were you. Karma is a tool that is being used by supporters to track "misbehaviour", but a negative karma score of -2 is nothing to be worried about.

Hi:) I have a little problem with this plagin, when I try to see slideshow from album/ lastup etc. For example: displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=-x&pid=x&slideshow=5000 rewrites to slideshow-album-lastup-cat--x-pid-241-delay-5000.html. Maybe, someone can help me with this?:)
