Title: another batch adding problem! pls help!
Post by: ZuRrOn on December 14, 2003, 03:18:04 am
ok, i have searched ur forums and there is one thread similar to mine but it dosent solve my problem..

my directory looks like this:
albums/pros
albums/logos

now the pros works fine.. i uploaded 70 odd pics with FTP then batch added all of them no worries..

i have tried to do the same with other galleries but i get the error "There is no picture to add" or something to this effect.. now the albums folder is chmod to 777 and each subfolder (eg. pros and logos) is chmod to 777 as well..

i have checked the config, and all the images are in the jpg format.. some as JPG and some are jpg, that shouldnt matter though should it? this is a weird one, as i already have a gallery that works perfectly..
ok thanx in advance for any help!

mhmm - I mentioned this "error" to the dev team earlier, but maybe its stinn in ,,,

take care that all files have different filenames - even if they are stored in different directories ....

i always take the following...

i have a large gallery with >400 albums and > 50.000 pics. if < upload new pics, i rename them with a name according to the directory and a counter ...

say the directory (and the album) are namend "albums/stars/alyssa/glam"
all pics are then named "alyssa_glam_xxxx.*", where xxxx is a counter ..

that way i am shure all pics are going into the gallery ...

oh ok then... well i love the script it is perfect for the galleries i want to display.. plus the blocks are awesome with the random pics and stuff..

i will try what you said but if anyone has a proven fix for this problem that would be awesome.. i thought i was doing something wrong as i always make a stupid simple mistake, but normally i work it out by now :P
