Title: phpBB2.0.18 cpg1.4.2 User names can't sync
Post by: Fokusnik on November 28, 2005, 07:24:04 pm
Hello

I have phpBB2.0.18 working in 1251 codepage (Cyrillic Windows)

cpg was installed by default as Unicode UTF-8

After Bridging, When i login with phpbb usernames, there's crappy usernames in cpg (Square Boxes usually)

Supposing it's because of difference in encoding.

How can i solve this problem?

It doesn't help.
Today I installed 1.4.4 and bridged it with phpBB 2.0.19
I have Cyrillic name in my phpBB database.
So in CPG 1.4.4 that names a displayed incorrectly.
See screenshot.

The URL Nibbler is for some fix which is already included in CPG 1.4.4.
But as you see it didn't help.

One more time.
We are speaking about phpBB 2.0.19 DATABASE where UserNames are storage in Windows-1251 codepage.
When we look Users List throw CPG 1.4.4 which is set to use UTF-8 we didn't see Cyrillic UserNames!

You'd need to add iconv() calls whenever the names are displayed.

Does Coppermine Team going to fix this one problem in next release?
