Hi
Ive gone thru all forums but didn't find my solution in any forums in mamboforge.net, joomla.org, smf etc.
I want to install 5 individual CPG galleries on same site bridging with main CMS Joomla & want to know is that possible ?
My main motive is to share users only. No wrapping or i frame required.
programs are :
Joomla 1.0.4
CPG 1.4.2
There will be 2 options :
One is i want to have a common database of all galleries (1.4.2) & Joomla then in this case is that possible if i want to share same database (do i need to changes prefix 142_ to some other like gal1_ , gal2_ , gal3_ , gal4_ , gal5_ ) & use internal bridgemanager with cpg142 . this works fine or some other easy way.
Second is which i prefer is if possible : 5 individual databases for 5 galleries (standlone installation) & 1 individual for joomla (now here we'l have 6 databases) & by some easy way we can share users of joomla or in other words for all galleries member will get registered thru joomla only. Benefit is if in future i want to discontinue any of gallery i can simply delete its databse & folder. no complications will be there
So please suggest what to do now (any hack or mod or TRICK to work)

Its only for 1 gallery , iwant 5 different galleries with different datbases

Should work, just bridge each gallery to joomla. Both the 1.3 and 1.4 demos running here are bridged to this board.

Dear NIbbler
my query is
1) 5 different cpg databses with joomla bridge ? is that possible
2) if no & all have one common databse as of joomla : then what to prefix. in database for each galery
Please read my main query on top once again > I believe u can resolve this :)

Yeah, it should work with seperate dbs. I don't know the details of the joomla bridge though. You'll need to grab the most recent version of udb_core.inc.php from cvs. You can prefix the galleries whatever you like, it makes no difference so long as they are different.
