Title: Page doesn't print with all elements
Post by: loudawgi on November 10, 2005, 04:35:24 am
Hello, we're set up with Coppermine at http://www.photo-colorado.com

We want to print out the page as displayed in browser. When we do so, almost everything prints fine, but our banner at upper left is missing on the printed page, there is a blank area instead. Anyone have any idea what we could do to fix this?

I searched these forums but didn't find anything about this sort of issue. Apologies if there are older posts solving it.

Our theme is Blackbirch, lightly modified.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

'best, Lou

The "banner" is actually a background graphic. Background graphics don't get printed. If you want it printed as well, you'll have to edit your theme and convert the bg image to a "regular" image in the foreground. I wouldn't recommend doing that - it will break the clean looks of the site. Instead, you could add some element to the page that only get's printed but not displayed on the screen (e.g. a smaller version of the background graphic as site banner). Aha! Thanks so much, it never occured to me that it was a background, even though I stared at the template code for a while to try and catch what was going on. I'll study those resources.

Thanks so much for helping out with this.
