I would like to create a gallery with say 6 albums. I would like the admins to be able to modify all albums, but specific users to be able to upload to specific albums only.
To be exact...
Album 1
Album 2
Album 3
Album 4
Album 5
Album 6
User 1 (admin) can upload to all albums
User 2 (registered) can upload only to album 2
User 3 (registered) can upload only to album 3
User 4 (registered) can only upload to album 4
Is this possible at all? Thanks for any help

no, unless you make the albums visible for the particular user group only. If all albums are meant to be publicly visible, then all users who have upload permissions will be able to upload to all albums no matter what. What you're up to is what the "user galleries" category is meant for.

Yes, in a nutshell that is exactly what I am up to, however I want the user galleries to show on the main page of the site when its first loaded. Is that possible somehow then?

I think there is a mod (although it may have been created for cpg1.2.x, so you may have to adapt it to work with cpg1.3.x) that can do what you're up to.
