Title: RSS feed?
Post by: Deus on August 22, 2005, 05:05:41 pm
How about an RSS feed, showing last 10-20 thumbs and catagories that have been updated.

I'm planning to add a RSS feed to the core (admin settable of course) for cpg1.5.x
Meanwhile, you should use the RSS feed mod as suggested. cpmFetch can do something very similar.

I don't use this mod, I use another one for the last adittions but will be a very good idea to put the rss option in the core for the next version, so many people can use Coppermine as photoblog as me and you can ping to all the photoblogs pages and technorati too (With the mod that I used the Keywords of my picture are used as tags in technorati)

I wouldn't mid seeing a possibility to write a small report in the RSS feed for a new album created/updated.
Offcourse, this should be fully manual, as in Coppermine wouldn't create a new RSS item on it's own from a new album addition, but I'd have to push a button to create new item and write a description for it before it goes public, again, as i push a button.
I like my RSS being a tad more than just a list of links to new things (sorry, it's Finnish) -> http://www.partanen.net/news.xml

Just my tired 2 eurocents.
