Title: can I stop original images from being viewed?
Post by: LWAA on July 06, 2005, 03:51:25 pm
when you double click on an thumbnail in the gallery, you get a page with that image and any information on it that has been added. This is great, but when you then double click on the image on this page, the original jpeg opens up in a new window - is there any way to stop this? My client doesn't want people to be able to download images at all - the point of the site is to sell prints, so this would kind of defeat the object. Is there a way to add a site-wide "no right click" thing? I know this would only stop pc users (the no-right-click thing doesn't affect mac users), but it would help.

thanks in advance

I searched and only found my own question  ???

The search is only good if you know what words to use and I'm not sure - I tried "stop original images being viewed" and "original images", but no joy. Sorry to sound dumb, but I just don't know what words to use to search for.

or you could 'remove' the possibility of the last 'click for fullsize image',- so you'll end up with the small thumbnail, - the intermediate image, - and nothing more... I've done a gallery that behaves this way, - for a photographer who had the very same concerns you describe.

Let me know if that could work, -and I'll finde the code where I altered this behavior

sounds perfect - thanks, I'd appreciate that.
