Sorry for posting here... but I didn't see it anywhere else...
I want to open my register section. I want to have three categories of users. Public, Friends, Admin
I want the register function to be only used for public users to sign up. The friends users I sign up manually. How do I go about making sure that the register function is only for the public group?

Use the normal registered group for 'public' and then create/upgrade your friends into the 'friends' group.

I changed the name of the groups...
So does it go by order in the admin panel of the user groups? That's what I am really asking... how do I know which group is recieving members before doing so.

New members become members of the group originally named Registered (group id 2). If you renamed it then it is still the same group.

So... I got that finished. Now how do you add another field to the database for them to fill in where they register? Does this log their ip address?
Then when they recieve a confirm email where is that to add some text to it?

One question per thread please. You can change displayed texts in the language file eg. lang/english.php and there is a mod for additional profile fields.

Could you tell me where the profile mod is? I just looked in mods but didn't find it (1.3)..
