Title: Installatiion issues on Linux / PHP/ MySQL
Post by: planetnet on May 25, 2005, 08:57:36 pm
Hi,

I'm hoping someone in this forum will have some insight into my installation road block  We are a Redhat Enterprise shop with root access to the server, MySQL, PHP, and Image Magick.  We successfully installed Imagemagick 6.2.2 and the the install.php locates the scrpt but shoots out the following error:

The installer found the ImageMagick 'convert' program in '/usr/local/bin/', however it can't be executed by the script

This is the permissions of the of Image Magick directory:

-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47974 May 25 01:02 animate
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        53759 May 25 01:02 compare
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47986 May 25 01:02 composite
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        53170 May 25 01:02 conjure
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47974 May 25 01:02 convert
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47974 May 25 01:02 display
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        53565 May 25 01:02 identify
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47968 May 25 01:02 import
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         1111 May 25 01:02 Magick-config
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        47974 May 25 01:02 mogrify
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root        48426 May 25 01:02 montage
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         1158 May 25 01:02 Wand-config

and this directory is owned by root and has permissions of 755.  Any ideas would be very much appreciated  :)

Thanks,
-Todd

what user does the webserver run under? Certainly not "root", usually a user named "apache". Make sure that this paricular user has rwx permissions, or CHMOD the ImageMagick exectuable's folder to 777

Hi
i wanted to share my working solution

i had many similar problems and plugin installs and third party linux installation problems,
i changed my server to windows and installed xampps on that such problems are out of date for me.
try this solution,
no user rights problems no third party plugin problems no trying to look updates of every plugin and after that trying to learn if this new plugin is suitable and stable with your other softwares etc etc etc

Also linux and W2003 web or w2003 server edition do not have performance differences.

I have to thank the person of the support of http://www.generaldots.com
he offered this solution to me after i could not setup anything on the server for a week!!!
--------
After 9 days sending from this message i see solution on Linux and mac computers
Nibbler's solution finishes this problem

cpg1.3.x is outdated and goes unsupported. The cpg1.3.x support board is only meant as a reference. Locking.
