Title: Private Albums
Post by: Traxman on April 27, 2005, 06:16:40 pm
I would like to know if I can create private albums. Or if I can set specific members of the gallery to be able to access or even be the only ones to see a private album or category.

I have already modded it so that unregistered users are required to register but I want it to be public but a specific group with access to certain albums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is possible to set up private galleries. Please refer to the documentation
http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#config_user

Set users can have private albums = YES

You will then need to modify the album properties for the album which you want to make private. THe instructions are in the docs. Repost if you have further questions.

Hope this helps,

That helped out a great deal. Now one more question.

Can I hide the category as I did the album?

Traxman,

Not to my knowledge. Anything is possible ;) Out of the box: no, but if you are willing to code it, yes  :)

Hmm.....Thanks for the info. I will see if I can work on the code a little and who knows maybe I will submit it to coppermine and see if they can input it into a newer version. But as with all code like this it may take a while. Coding it the first time is easy it is all the modifications and tests that come after that I hate....hehe.
