Title: CPG Showcase
Post by: 100photo.com on March 21, 2005, 08:44:08 pm
Guys, I stumbled accross Coppermine Gallery when I was making research on how to make my own PHP/MySQL based gallery. I have played with your code over the week-end and I found it to be quite useful. One thing I would like to suggest to be added to your project site is a CPG Showcase, where you would post the links to the galleries that have been created based on your code, so that other people could see the potential of your application.

Exactly!  Thanks for the link, so maybe you could put those together on a page somewhere next to the Demo, so everyone can see it right away when they are trying to make a decision on what Coppermine is about.

Good point - we have been discussing this in the past and moorey (who used to be in charge of the website's design at that time) said he was working on a script to accomplish this, but then the idea was forgotten about. I'll take a look into this to see what we can come up with...

Maybe we can make use of the minicms plugin, once the demo runs v. 1.4. This would make it easier for dev team members to update without requiring FTP access. We might also want to categorize the galleries.

We can ask those who want to volunteer their sites to provide a URL, brief description, and graphic--either a logo or screenshot.

Another method is to make each submitted gallery a file in the coppermine gallery. Then people can rate, share as ecard, comment, etc. Each gallery could be represented by a screenshot.
