Title: Re: miniCMS for CPG - Whatever happened to HTMLArea?
Post by: mid0ri on March 09, 2005, 02:58:45 am
Whatever happened to HTMLArea? There are two conflicting reports about the status of HTMLArea on dynarch.com and htmlarea.com
Has anybody successfully ported FCKeditor to MiniCMS?

HTMLarea is being used in the mini-cms plugin (http://cpg-contrib.org/thumbnails.php?album=1) (for cpg 1.4) and it works great.

edit: hmm... after reading those websites you mentioned, I see now what you meant. Nevermind.

edit2: link updated for new site.

We're discussing adding photoblogging functionality in minicms if you want to see or join in: http://cpg-contrib.org/board/index.php?topic=12.0

We should probably be more clear, the CPG MiniCMS that TranzNdance and I are working on, was BASED on Tarique's MiniCMS;  I can't comment on whether Tarique plans on doing anything with the version of MiniCMS that this thread is for.

This thread should stay for talking about the 1.3 version of Tariques code and the extensions the other developers made to it.

cpg-contrib's MiniCMS is a plugin for Coppermine 1.4 and up, it already has a much more refined interface and expanded featureset. (1.4 is still in development and hasn't been released with any support)

Now that we've made this thread aware that a different version exists we shouldn't mix the threads by talking about both products; it will obviously get very confusing on several different levels.

If you want to continue to talk about the 1.4 cpg-contrib Minicms plugin head to cpg-contrib.org/board (http://cpg-contrib.org/board). If you want to talk about the 1.3 version of Tariques code, this is the right thread.

I'm confused already.

Is this whats happening:

 - this thread was about minicms 'A'

- its now become clear that theres a different version, minicms 'B'

- which this thread was not/is not about

?

And more importantly, WHATS THE DIFFERNECE BETWEEN THEM?

Also, I tied to install it but got base_dir errors - does this mean they ened to reconfigure their server, or maybe I should/will have to change host?

It was getting confusing, I've went back and split the threads.

The original version of MiniCMS that was released by Tarique as a MOD for Coppermine 1.2  and was expanded upon is here:
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=15925.0
If you want to see this code working you will have to request it in this (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=15925.0) thread.

That work was then taken and a plugin was developed for the eventual release of Coppermine 1.4.
At this point they are very different beasts due to the work that has been invested into the plugin.
If you want to see this code working, you can look at the sites that tranzNdance and I posted.
If you are interested in testing Minicms for Coppermine 1.4 you are cautioned that neither are ready for production, and Coppermine 1.4 comes without any support until it is released as stable. (don't ask, it is proceeding)
Go here for the cpg-contrib (http://cpg-contrib.org) version: http://www.cpg-contrib.org/thumbnails.php?album=1

Hope that helps.
