Title: Using GD instead of Imagemagick

I am looking to set up my first site, and my host does not have imagemagick installed.  GD 2.0 is installed.  I have looked in the docs and in the forums on what it takes to use GD.  All I can find is how to set the path for imagemagick.  Is detected automatically and defaults to GD if nothing else is selected?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you wont need to do anything specal to use gd it will just work
