Title: Per category themes?
Post by: emgaron on November 12, 2003, 10:34:52 am
Hi all!

I'm in the process of evaluating Coppermine 1.1.1 and up until now, I really like what I see. Setup was easy so far, but there's one thing I couldn't find in the docs or the FAQ. A search on the boards came up empty, too, so I'll ask it here:

Is is possible to assign different themes for different categories?

The background of this question is this: I intend to use one Coppermine setup for both private categories and for the local branch of the cyclists organisation. Seeing what Coppermine offers, I decided on this approach:
- Make one category for me and one for the association
- Within the categroies, have albums as appropriate (all private, though being able to have a "private category" would be even nicer)
With this approach, it would be nice, if I could change the look and feel based on the category, hence my question.

On the other hand, if you feel my approach is flawed and have a better suggestion, please let me know as well. It's entirely possible I missed some cool feature... :-)

I'm sure it could be done with some hacking, but it might be easier to have two installations.  You would simply need to change the table name prefix in setup.

Hm, that's another option, of course. I might just do that - added advantage would be that I keep both setups completely separate, too...  :)
