Title: more smilies by adding a popup
Post by: h3lium on January 17, 2005, 09:00:23 pm
hey everyone!
its me again...
this time i really seached for everytopic with the word "smilie" included ;)
i found many tuturials to add more smilies by adding a new row to the allready existing smilies...
but what i want is like the burning board has, a button or link under the regular smilies for more...
and then a small window should open with many clickable smilies...
the thing is, i know how to add the link, but i dont know the tag that the current smilietag (i dont know the name for it... like for  ??? its -> ?.??) will be included into the current activ formfield (for the picturecomment).

hope you understood what i trying to say ;) - if not, ask ;)
-> sorry for my bad english... :) im just a german pupil ;)

hope that you can really help me ;) like the last time!
so long
greetings

open include/smilies.inc.php in a text editor (notepad is fine) to see what code will produce what smiley. They're basically the same on most apps, and coppermine even allows different ways of "spelling" them.
Burning board is a German commercial app, which means that there's only a few people around here who actually know or use it, but the thing you're up to is most widely refered to as "smiley pop-up" or "advanced smileys"...
There's no hack available for coppermine yet, but it shouldn't be too hard.

You better use JavaScript than Java (two utterly different animals). Looking forward to your hack.
