Use phpMyAdmin and check to see if your Coppermine tables are still intact.

Did your guestbook overwrite any Coppermine files?
Did you do any modifications to Coppermine that are related to your guestbook?

i dont think i have phpmyadmin.
if i changed the password to mysql would it effect the coppermine? cause thats just about all i did.
i still have the photos and such on my server and all the other coppermine files in tact. and no i didnt overwrite anything

If you change the mysql password, yes, it will affect coppermine. Edit include/config.inc.php to update the login info.

You don't have to have a separate database for your guestbook.  One database will hold everything you will need.  As long as the guestbook doesn't make tables with the same prefix that Coppermine uses (cpg132_) you will be ok.

There are no good guestbook scripts, because guestbooks s**k in the first place. They are a relict from the early days of the www that just don't make sense any more, as they're only used by spammers, with entries like "nice site you have, why don't you visit mine: http://mystupidsite.tld )"
Nothing personal, this is not aimed at you - I just suggest you review the whole idea of having a guestbook.

it'll be ok... guestbooks wont haunt your life anymore. depending on the usage of it, yes guestbooks do suck. but that goes for any and everything. thanks for the help...i guess
