Title: Extra '.' on URL when logging in
Post by: R0903 on January 09, 2005, 09:13:59 pm
Hello, I'm having a problem with my Gallery. I can't seem to login or logout, I get a popup error saying "www.blah.com.. could not be found."

(blah.com is not my real url, btw)

But, it looks like it's added an extra '.' on the end of my URL somewhere, does anyone know where the URL set for login is? Which file?

Thanks.

your gonna have to post your real site if you want anybody to take a look at it.

your also going to need to post a test user and password (non-admin)

The only other advice I can give you is to check the "target address" in your config, and make sure it's set properly.

However I think the login/logout pages all use the referrer to determine where to send your page after login/out.

If you have a login problem, you must provide test logins so that supporters can test the login. Don't expect people to register to dozens of galleries to help.

You are using bridging. I don't have much experience with that so the best I can do is suggest that you begin looking there.

search the boards for login problems and phpbb bridging.

You might also want to download the latest stable bridging files for 1.3.x from CVS as it may have been updated.

no longer needed
The point of running a forum is that others may benefit from the solution found for your problem. If you delete your entries after the issue has been fixed, you take away this option for others, and the thread is crippled beyond repair, as it means no help for others any more. This is very selfish behaviour and undermines the whole point of running a forum.

For the very same reason posted above we don't delete threads >:(

@GauGau the "no longer needed" was just his test user credentials.

but it would read better if he had said : "Edit: removed test user credentials."

And that leads to your second point which is spot on.
