Title: Coppermine Video Gallery?
Post by: fszone on December 24, 2004, 08:11:44 pm
I think this is a good idea, and it *seems* it would be pretty simple, users can upload their own videos. It would sue the same basic structure, but when a user clicks on the preview image it would take them to a page like this (http://www.fs2004.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=&pos=-356) but instead of a photo the video will start playing.

I'm just learning PHP and I could give a stab at this, the only thing I would have problem with is making a preview image out of the video automaticly.

What kind of video are you referring to. CPG supports various video formats.

Ah, you're correct. I never knew this, but is there anyway to export the 1st frame of the movie to a .JPG, or .png, etc?

no, not in coppermine.  Imagemagick and GD cannot do it.  You need to create the thumbs yourself then upload them into the same folder as the video.

reading the documentation is recommended before posting on the board, especially if you post an invalid feature request. Make sure you're actually requesting a feature that doesn't exist already, and search the board as well to make sure your request is unique and new and hasn't been discussed already. Locking this thread, as the request itself is invalid and there's no support on the feature requests board.
