Title: subdomains for each user in CPG
Post by: FearlessX on December 17, 2004, 05:37:22 pm
hi.. posted this in the mods section before. but no one replied me. so my question was,

is it possible to have a personal URL (subdomain) for each user using the short URL hack?

if you know your way around in apache very well this could be accomplished imo, but I guess you're looking for a copy'n paste solution, so the answer basically is: no, unless you code it. This is not related to coppermine at all, it's merely a webserver setup issue, that's why you didn't get a reply in the first place. Cross-posting won't win you friends >:(.

It looks like Oasis did it:
http://shoko.pixnet.net redirects to http://www.pixnet.net/shoko
Was it done with .htaccess redirection or how? Or you manually registered subdomains?
Please share your experience..
Thanks in advance!

subdomain entries involve changes in DNS entries that coppermine cannot affect.
