i hope you won't bite my head off...
i'm sure this has been asked before, but i cannot find it...
i want to link a photo of my coppermine gallery permanently to photo friday challenge.
how can i get a permanent url to an image of my gallery?
please give me a hint or a link to a related thread.
thank you!

If you want to link to the page it is on, look in the image info, it is there.
if you wish to hotlink to it, then open up the fullsize image, right click on it, and select properties.
The url will be shown.

thank you so much for the quick reply!
the only problem is, as you can see at my site http://www.a-visual-notebook.at, i have changed and disabled a lot of things, such as the full size image feature and the image info. how can i get the permanent url anyhow?
thanks

That's a nice look ;)
The url of your lastup pic is 'http://www.a-visual-notebook.at/albums/userpics/10001/2004_11_21_04.jpg'
Just right click on the image, and the url of the pic is in the properties. If it says 'normal_' before the image filename, just remove that for the fullsize pic url.

thanks caspar :)
of course i know the url to the image itself, but what i want is:
to get is a permanent url of the coppermine PAGE where the image is displayed.
cheers,
michael

The permanent url is of the form 'displayimage.php?pos=-123'. It exists in the pic info, and is made from simply the id of the pic with a '-' infront.
-
thank you so much, nibbler,
"id of the pic with a '-'" that's one thing i wanted to know...
the only problem is... ;) as i said and as you can see, i have disabled the pic info for my site.
at the moment, the only way i see to get a picture's ID, is to look after it at the mysql database tables.
but maybe there's smoother way to get it...?
thanks for your patience,
michael

On the upper left hand corner of the image is an icon to toggle the picture info on/off. Or did you disable that too?
-
I think the delete link includes the pid (if you still have that of course).
-
now i see... the edit link shows the pid too!
a big thanks to you all for your help!
