I deleted a category thru MySQL that existed before the upgrade, and ever since i have been having mad problems
Here is the first error i get:
A category has a non-existing parent, run the category manager to correct the problem!

No matter how many categories i create it doesnt work.
The albums work fine if i take them out of the categories.

I don't know if this advice is helpful or if you already tried it, but I'd try this:
- go to the album manager
- look if any album is in some category; set all albums to "No category"
- go to the categories manager
- set the all categories to root (the first and empty entry)
- delete the categories you don't need or that cause problems, maybe delete all categories
- test and hope that everything runs fine until now
- create new categories
- move your "Candids" album to that new category.

This is another example of what happens when you use external means to delete items in the gallery. The category you deleted must have had at least 1 child category, which now has no parent, but the database says it does.
You will probably have to go back into the database, find the orphan category, and change it to parent = 0. Note there may be more than 1.
The other alternative, is the category you deleted was the user galleries, cat id 1. Coppermine will not work without this category.
If you don't want it, just disallow users can have personal albums in the groups settings (all groups) and delete any albums that already exist in it. Then it is hidden.
In future, ensure you use the built in delete functions of coppermine to delete anything you don't want.
