In the FAQ:
Can I have the pictures stored on another server than the one where coppermine actually runs on?
The link is broken (chezgreg.net is down).
Does somebody know how to do that?
-
AFAIK....it is not possible...I am pretty sure GauGau or one of the other deves can give a nice lengthy reason, but basically the current code does not lend itself to this easily.
-
hmmm... there is a possibility this was already included in the release, which would probably be why there was an faq entry for it. In functions.inc.php there is this:
// Return the url for a picture, allows to have pictures spreaded over multiple servers
function get_pic_url(&$pic_row, $mode)
-
this is not build in into the release. There used to be a lengthy posting baout the how-to with a lot of code to change to make it work, but the posting has been gone with chezgreg.net, and no trace of it in google's cache - sorry.

and you can't code it?

and you can't code it?
No we can't code - we just got lucky with Greg vanishing off ;)
Did you even care to look at what Oasis posted? The solution is there....

Hi ,
I'm really need this feature ... any chance of someone have made it ?
Save the crezgreg page ?
Just a clue perhaps?
Thanx...

no, and we're not looking into this, as we simply won't support anything that will lead only to bandwidth theft. If you need it badly, you'll have to come up with a solution by yourself. There have been heated discussions (but no "solution") on this issue in the past already, you may look into them by searching the board. There's little point in requesting this feature once again, especially since this sub-board (and all threads in it) deal with a very outdated version of coppermine (this thread is only here for reference!).
