Post by: richard04 on September 24, 2004, 10:46:55 pm
Hi,

I just installed Coppermine and tried to change Theme and Language setting in config at Admin Panel. After saving and back to my gallery, nothing was changed. I did this severalt times and it did not work. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

I am using version 1.3.2, English, Basic theme. Actually I am trying to change setting in confi to allow user to change on their own. Haven't success yet. Thank you in advance for your help.

Here is my gallery link

http://ihcworld.com/imagegallery/index.php

Let me explain in more details. When I first set up, everything works fine. But when I tried to change the theme in a frame on top of the gallery to see what other themes looks like. However, when I choose defaut, everthing went back to original defaut setting. I went to config of admin panel and changed defaut theme to "basic" or "juicy" etc. and save. When I go back to check the config file, theme is still at defaut and nothing changed.

Another problem I encountered was upload. I did test register as a regular user. When I logged in and upload files, it tells me that there is no album that allowed me to do so. I then created my own album which allows me to upload ONLY into this album BUT NOT other albums. I checked the group setting in admin mode and registered user upload is allowed (yes selected). Again I tried to save this group setting several times too but nothing happened.

Hope the information is useful to help me solve problems.

Thank you

Richard

It was so strange!!! I just clicked the link to my gallery I posted here http://ihcworld.com/imagegallery/index.php and everything is fine!!! But I am afriad to choose any theme selection again, especially the DEFAULT selection!!! Can you tell me what happened?

I am still having problem of uploading photos by registered user. The register user can ONLY upload in their own album, which is not what I planned. I hope users can upload in any public albums. Hope someone can help.

Thank you.

Richard

have you set upload permissions to the albums themselves as well as in groups page ?

Other stuff is prolly cache related.

I only set up permission in groups, but don't know how to set up upload permission to albums themselves. Can you let me know the details.

Thanks

Properties button next to the album thumbnail in the album list.

The theme problem is caused by the fact you have still got the theme 'default' in the themes folder.  That theme has been renamed in 1.3 to classic.  The 'default' theme you have will not work with 1.3, so you should remove it.
