Title: Moving entire site
Post by: timpsod on February 03, 2010, 05:22:30 pm
Hi there,
can anyone help. I have an intallation of copermine at www.lornascakes.co.uk/photos

I now need to move this to my homepage as in www.lornascakes.co.uk and not www.lornascakes.co.uk/photos,

i am presuming it is not as simple as moving the entire folder structure one level up?

what do i need to change. presumably there are changes to make on the DB side too?

Regards

Dave

This has been asked so many times there is are hundreds of threads about it. Please try the search facility in future.

In your case you are not moving server, just the folder it is stored in. You can just move the files and edit the url in the config panel.

Here is another similar thread.

You will find many more like it so you'll soon see why we get frustrated when people ask the same question many times. ;)

For a bullet-proof instruction, please read http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/export.htm#moving - has been written for cpg1.5.x, but applies in your case as well.

You have not copied/moved the files and directories as they should be.....

Use the cpg14x directory that you have on your computer as your guide. The gallery root should have the exact same organization of all the folders and files.
