Title: [Solved]: Users unable to log in
Post by: bozz282 on March 22, 2009, 07:46:00 pm
Hi,

I recently updated and bridged Coppermine and aside from some cookie issues, everything seemed ok. But, some members have let me know that they cannot log in. I searched the forum and found various answers including emptying the banned users table with Myphpadmin (which did help some users get rid of the message 'You are currently banned from using this forum') but they are still unable to log in. I have asked them to empty their cookie store but, still no joy. None of the other forum topics were able to help so reluctantly I am posting here :

Coppermine install: http://v8hotstox.com/forum/gallery/
Forum install: http://mysite.tld/my_forum_folder/
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.21.
Forum version: phpBB 2.0.22
Test user account: test1 / testaccount

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://www.v8hotstox.com/forum
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forum/
Use post-based groups?:  No
Cookie name/preifx (if applicable) hotstox.gallery_Data

Can't test if bridging is not enabled. You are not supposed to put a dot in your cookie name - it's not a legal character for a cookie name. You should leave it as the default unless you have good reason to change it.

Hi Nibbler,

Ah, ok, didn't realise. I'm a bit confused now because I thought Coppermine was bridged ? how do I know for sure ? (sorry for being thick)

I just logged in again primarily to change the cookie prefix as you suggested and it has been changed. Did you do it by any chance ? At that time, I tried once again to bridge Coppermine and selected 'enable' and the button changed to 'finish' so I presume it is now bridged ? I didn't get a message to say 'it is bridged' or 'it is not bridged'
