Post by: prad on December 19, 2006, 09:44:00 pm
Hi,

How can disable cpg from sending any emails out, eg notifications, actually anything

I would like my gallery to have just my photos and hence would like to completely block all mailer scripts
in cpg.

how is this possible, do i have to delete certain files, if yes, which ones?

Plz help

Most of the notifications settings are in Config

To disable ecard and report to admin, go to Groups manager

Thanks but that's not going to help.

It's not like cpg independently decides to send out emails. The only emails I get from the gallery are the ones that I set to receive. You can delete include/mailer.inc.php but it's going to come back when you do upgrades. At least settings don't change due to updates.

Hi Tranz,

Thanks for helping me out, yes Im just worried abt exploits that will send spam from cpg. I know we all know that cpg is very safe and sure wont have any vulnerabilities, but just to make sure that it doesnt cause any problem one day when we find a hole. im taking this extreme step, besides I dont want cpg o notify me regarding anything, cos Ive blocked cpg for users and its only for me to use.

I hope you understand...So if I delete mailer.inc.php will the cpg program break or have any problems, thats no problem after upgrading, I can still delete it again. But want to make sure only mailer.inc.php can send out mail? and if deleted wont cos harm to my existing cpg gallery

Again appreciate your help!
thanks!

There shouldn't be a problem ,also you can rename it to something else instead

If you set the settings so that no mail is sent and delete the file, you won't have problems.
