Title: 777 is too much!
Post by: MilchstrabeStern on September 22, 2004, 02:14:45 am
I cant really do much, like batch adding or anything cause my permissions for public_html can not be 777, thats a huge security risk for a website. My folder for coppermine and everything  within in it is 777. But public_html is 750, what can i do?

This helps, somewhat, but still should I make my public_html folder 777 or not? Cause that seems to be the only way I can get around this issues.

No you don't have to make your public_html folder 777.

Just the albums folder, and all folders in it.  Also, during install, the include folder.

This is not a security risk, if it was, we would have hundreds of complaints of sites being hacked through coppermine.  We have NONE.

I get the same problems:

Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open 'albums/xxx/thumb_yyy.JPG' for writing in /home/www/web117/html/Gallery/cpg133/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 218

Warning: getimagesize(): Unable to access albums/xxx/thumb_yyy.JPG in /home/www/web117/html/Gallery/cpg133/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 226

Warning: getimagesize(albums/xxx/thumb_yyy.JPG): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/web117/html/Gallery/cpg133/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 226
Kann Thumbnail nicht erzeugen.

I thought the problem might be CHMOD, but I can't change it for the folders I made myself:

500-'SITE CHMOD 777 xxx' not understood.
500 SITE not understood.

All other folders are 777

ask your webhost how to chmod then.
