Title: installation - Password error
Post by: pop72 on May 04, 2004, 10:24:38 pm
Then i try to log in under the "coppermine installation" I get this error

"Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered
MySQL error was : Access denied for user: 'PoP@127.0.0.1' (Using password: YES)"
I have tried 2 passwords that i did choose in FoxServ and in coppermine, i use the same so far just to get it a bit easier (i thought)  ;) ......
What can it be that are wrong?

you can't make up passwords - you'll have to use the username and passwords of your mySQL user. If you're webhosted, you should have been told by your webhost what your mySQL access/account info is. If you're running your own server, you should be able to solve this on your own anyway.

You can also try leaving the password blank.

well, if you're running your own server you're lucky: you already know the server admin and can ask him for advice ;). Did you ever install a complex php/mySQL application on your server before? Maybe you could try first with some basic script to test if your webserver is properly configured.
